Jean Dean RIF (Reading is Fundamental), is the signature charity of the Alabama Kiwanis Foundation. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, this RIF project purchases and distributes over 75000 age level books to 25000 children across the state of Alabama each year.  The preschool aged children receiving these books attend Head Start and similar preschool education centers for at risk children. Jean Dean RIF depends on the support of generous sponsors, grants and fundraisers to enable this program to serve all counties in Alabama.
